Who we are

This notice covers the free website checker at isyourbusinessbookable.com (“the checker”). The checker is run by GETBOOKD LTD (“Bookd”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17088679, 49 Maes y Crofft, Morganstown, Cardiff CF15 8FE. We are the data controller for the information described here. Our ICO registration number is C1896648.

When you check a website

You give us a website address. Our checker visits that public website once, the way a customer on a phone would, and records what it finds that matters for booking: whether there is a booking button, what it says and where it leads, whether opening hours and deposit information are shown, and a picture of the site's first screen on a phone. It also asks Google PageSpeed Insights to time the booking page.

We use this to show you a score and, if you ask, to email you the full report. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: providing the check you asked us to run.

The result, the screenshot and the website address are deleted automatically after 7 days. We do not keep the website's pages.

When you ask for the full report

You give us your email address and tick the box asking us to email you the report. We use your email address to send that one report. It is not a marketing email, and we will not email you anything else unless you also tick the separate box for Bookd updates. Our lawful basis is your request (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR), and we keep a record that you ticked the box and the wording you agreed to.

If you only asked for the report, we delete your email address and that record after 30 days.

If you ask for Bookd updates

If you tick the optional box for Bookd updates, we keep your email address, the website you checked and its score, and a record of your consent (the exact wording, and when you gave it) so we can send you occasional emails about Bookd. Our lawful basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR and regulation 22 of PECR).

You can withdraw at any time with the link in any email we send, or by emailing info@getbookd.io. We keep your details while you are opted in and for up to two years after you last opted in. If you withdraw, we keep a minimal record of that so we never email you again by mistake.

Technical information

To stop the checker being overloaded or misused, we use your IP address in a scrambled (hashed) form to count requests. Those counters expire within a day and are never linked to your email address.

We set one cookie, bc_owner, which remembers which results were created in your browser so we can show you the report form on your own result. It is strictly necessary for the service you asked for and lasts 7 days. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Who handles it for us

We use Vercel (hosting), Upstash (database), Resend (sending the report email) and Google (PageSpeed Insights, which receives only the address of the booking page). Each processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email info@getbookd.io; we reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.

About the websites we check

The checker only looks at public web pages. It identifies itself as BookableChecker, follows robots.txt, never logs in and never submits forms. The page About the checker explains how to stop it visiting a site.
